Fire and Heat Proximity Suits
The Respirex SOLAS suit is two-piece aluminised fire proximity suit designed for applications requiring close proximity firefighting and is certified by the Marine Safety Agency.
The suit is manufactured from continuous filament glass fibre fabric aluminised on one side with a layer of metallised polyester film and coated on the inside with flame-retardant flannelette, tested in accordance with BS 5438 and BS 6249 Part 1:1982.
The suit is acceptable for the purpose of complying with the requirements of:a) The Merchant Shipping (Fire Protection) Regulations 1984. b) The Merchant Shipping (Fire Appliances) Regulations 1980. c) The Merchant Shipping (Fire Protection) (Ships built before 25th May 1980) regulations 1985. d) The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea consolidated text of the 1974 SOLAS Convention, the 1978 SOLAS Protocol as amended by the SOLAS Amendments to date.
Product Features
- Aluminised Jacket with a high felt covered collar and Velcro front fastening.
- The jacket sleeves taper to a narrow cuff to allow gauntlet gloves to be worn over the exterior.
- High waisted aluminised trousers with centre front Velcro opening and elasticated ankles.
- The trousers are supported by adjustable braces.
- Five finger gauntlet gloves with aluminised backs and heat resistant leather palms.
- Rubber knee length boots with internal steel toecap conforming to EN345-1: 1993.
- Industrial safety helmet conforming to EN397:1995 with attached face screen conforming to EN166:1995.
- Aluminised neck cape.
